Because of this, I am able to go to God through You. Your ever faithful and loving character had drawn me closer than ever before. The promise we made at the Sea of Galilee and how you reminded me not to give up. Every tear i shed was like a diamond in Your hand.

When I doubted my abilities, you reminded me of how you could multiplied 5 loaves and 2 fishes to feed 5,000, what's more to the gift and abilities that You have given me. You can multiply it too and give us favors. Thank you Lord that you have always reminded me on how I will take the step to do the "natural" while You will take care of the "Supernatural".

These are some of the kind words your friends and your dad had shared about you at the service. Indeed you brought joy and laughters to many and your loving and unprejudiced heart had embedded an important lesson and reflections in our heart and memory.

Those where the days we jammed, had supper, talk rubbish, watched movie, performed. At times you were mischievous too! You were 14 when you joined us. 2 yrs later you were towering ALL of us! Your trip back home with the Lord had reminded me again that besides chasing dreams and trying to keep up with our packed schedule, friendship is something that at times we overlooked when we were busy. Besides chasing our dreams and thinking how i can reach and fulfill the dreams, I start to cherish the existing gifts that God had given to us and give thanks for it. Friends - God's gift of "alternative family" so that we always have someone there for us.

Thank you for being in our life and im glad that our paths have crossed. You will be deeply missed. We lost a dear friend, a fantastic musician and did you remember we even came up with a ridiculous name "Yong Tau Fu" as a band name? One of the monkey times we all had..

25 yrs isnt too long - but you have lived it so well. Bet you are having fun jamming for the Lord now. He enjoyed Jazz?

All these years after leaving Sydney, I miss the times spent with my RBBs. I believe throughout these 7 years, I have endless blog entries about them. My best friends, my best brothers, my family in Kimberly. The people who were there when I was at my lowest, and also the people who were there when I am at my happiest. They are both my punching bags and my helium. I was so used to having dinner together every night that I remembered feeling insecure and odd when there was a night that I agreed to have dinner with the guy who asked me out on a date. hehe.

So this fateful saturday - 16 Jan 2010 - was the day all the memories came rushing back like niagara falls. In the dream, it seemed like another day we spent together , preparing for dinner. All of us still looked the same in the dresm - yes, Jack, we were young and cute - It was like as though it was co-shared by Lio and Louisa. Awww, i realised my last post was in September! Since then, it was a horrible horrible schedule that I have to cope. Though i enjoyed it, but it really worn me out. I was really tired. I guessed as usual, I was addicted to stress. There was the endless travels (unfortunately not for leisure), unbelievable workload coz I AM the team, then there comes lecturing in RP which was really satisfying. Without the encouragement of Stanley and Albert who are secondary school teachers themselves and of coz by the love from God, i embarked to become an educator. My first class was a joyous bunch and delightful to teach.Then comes the planning of Sunday school curriculum, planning of Christmas parties, christmas shoppings, my hanoi show in December.So in the 3 months, I did all these....if i could remember all of them..read more:

auntie chubise saw the leftover S$2 discount voucher in her car and realised the expiry date is 31 Aug!

OMG, that's today, so kiasu auntie decided to drop by SPC to gas up LatioGhini..hoho..juz need to pump 40 bux, and after all the discount, auntie prolly just need to pay 35 or 36 bux.

So with half a tank, auntie chubsie stopover SPC after work....and happily grabbed the discount card and discount coupon (yeah..double whammy!) and Q up to pay.

Then.....dang~~!! The lady behind the cashier bar said in mandarin....

"xiao jie, discount coupon cannot use...coz only S$39.........."

WHAT??!!! S$39??? sobsob...juz one more dollar i can have S$2 discount..sobsobsob.

So i said "errr..i asked that uncle to pump S$40...." Then the lady said again..."erm...xiao jie...cannot fit already, your tank full........."

God...it was soooo bad. I havent been soooo sick. But recently, actually, this whole month i have been to Dr Roy's for 4 to 5 times..that's an average of once a week. sigh. I can be his shareholder already, i joked. Dr Roy just went....choiiiii!! thats not good news! haha.

It was the gathering for all MICE professionals at SACEOS' 30th Anniversary dinner at Conrad. The food was alright, perhaps it was great i must agree but it was the meeting up with old friends that overshine everything else! Met up with the rest of the professionals, the colleagues, the ex colleagues, the working partners, and most of all...the veterans of Singapore's MICE industry. This is the best industry - Im not talking about money....but the degree of passion. It is an industry that seemed like you need to severe ties with the world, coz we love our it so much, we can be working on our projects endlessly....despite the degree of rantings we had. It was juz the end of a hectic week...so grumpy and chubs decided to pick up something new to do - Being Green Finger!
I really do not have green fingers. Like my mom, im good only in causing turning a nice plant into ginseng. Yes. Reduced to roots. Never gonna give up! This is grumpy and chubs' first project, so it will work. We went to the nursery to get some nice planter boxes (okie...i admit, the planter boxes werent nice looking), bought Cherry Tomato seeds and chilli seeds, and what the gardener said was "GOOD SOIL". It better be good...coz it cost about 12 bux per packet! We cant wait! read more here.....

Yes...sleepy head is still NOT sober. Officially finished my PBL class so officially I am a lecturer already right.......yawnnnn...why am i still so sleepy =(

I thought i slept enuff in Oslo. Almost fell asleep at work today but strangely i sobered up and SUPER alert at 6pm so i worked till 9pm. I guess im nocturnal. I am made as a European. haha

Hmm...i am starting to miss my class mate from PBL class. Some of them start faci today and oops....due to some quarantined-happenings for some students, it was eLearning today till next week. I guess i will also be quarantined after i come back from Sydney. DArn..talking about sydney...im super excited but havent had the time to pack yet.

OH yeah, was going to sleep but saw this posting, really made me laugh so hard!

Yes, I am back in Singgas looking like a panda. Was so tired in Oslo. After i came back to Singgas, it was non-stop working..yes OT, and then to RP for a week of PBL training till this coming Wed, then OT till next week, and i will be flying off to Sydney for Hillsongs. Im totally burnt out. So tired. So sleepy. My energy has been depleted.

Spending lots of time with Grumpy too, making up my one week absence haha. This week, apart from work, has been fantastic. Spending quality time with Grumpy is such a positive thing to boost up my tired body. More updates coming up ... when im sober. Have to do laundry and pack for Sydney.... 40 days after Easter, it's Jesus's ascension today.

Ascension Day is a celebration of Jesus' ascension up to heaven. This is described in Acts 1:9 as happening 40 days after his resurrection. Catholics go to church, compulsory today, oh well, at least my boss did.

New Life, New Job, New mood

Woohoo...very quickly, my one-month holiday has gone away to have its own holiday. And i was being lazy this hiatus coz i didnt update my blog. gasps! haha. Was supposed to arranage and post the HCMC piccies, Bintan piccies and the Baptism piccies.

Oh OH OH OH OH oh. hehee. I guess, my mood decided that it should take its annual leave too.....so i was left moodless. Started my new job, loving loving loving it! Not gonna be easy to juggle all these tasks. 2 maritime shows and another transportation show thrown to me which is going to be staged this Nov. Oh no......

Apart from this, I will have to juggle my lecturing job from Sept onwards. Checking my traveling schedule this afternoon I realised i have MANY trips to make. OH man. how to cope. really need to draw strength from the LOrd. Lord you gave me all these opportunities so....promise hor...lend me a hand =)

Rushing thru work and everyday I focused 150% on work, I am so proud of myself. written couple reports in my first week. woohooo. And I should really start packing for my oslo trip. And yeah...new mood - weird. I get moody and down easily these few weeks, and perhaps that really explained why I didnt have the mood to sit still and religiously update my blog. THis blog is as obvious as my mood - colorless. hahaha. Suddenly felt a sense of fear (i donnoe wat was it for) sense of anxiety (maybe from work) ...ahh..juz wrong. wrong wrong..i cant be like this. Maybe I should just start dressing up again, and everyday is filled with rainbow again. woohooo! hehee. Maybe I am just tired.....then i remembered this:

Even busy Jesus will withdraw himself from activity and sit at a quiet corner to be discern and pray. So what's my excuse. BZ BZ BZ Bee. I read my bible and books while doing "gymnastics-balancing" on the crowded train and bus or even prior to bed ...and honestly, beside my law books in university, sometimes bible has the same effect........the ZZ monster effect. And i felt bad about it. Why do I have treat my daily feed as the last priority - ONLY after i finish my work, my chores, my Telly programm, then ....yes....be quiet to read the Words. Hmmm......Father, show me the importance of rest. Allow me to say no to something today in order that I might say yes to some quiet time with You. Amen.

Oh at least im the Sabbath Queen now, i gave my sunday FULLY to Him as well as rest hehehe. I no longer do office work or research on sundays and i hope to keep it that way. Exodus 20:8 says "Obseve the Sabbath day, to keep it holy" So Lord, help me practice a rhythm of rest and restoration, weekly welcoming the Sabbath, restoring order and worship to my weary soul......Amen! Muaks!

SUNDAY - SABBATH

Ahh..i love sundays, woke up in time for Rachel Ray's then Food 911, then Rachel Ray's travel, showered, prepared my bag for service. Wooohoooo! Going to take a train to church today.

Have to withdraw money for the week's expenses so decided to try out my Citibank ATM card at Khatib Mrt

SHITTY-BANK card-swallowing machine

Happily going to the atm machine hoping to draw out some cash for the week. Slotted the card into the machine and realised something was wrong. How come it doesnt feel like a feeder, when i pushed the card in softly, it went "falling into the slot" like rubbish into rubbish bin. Weird. Dont think machine "take in" card like that, feels like pushing a mail into the mailing box. And ms hair has her bimbo moments too. *grumble* thinking maybe Citibank's atm machines are maybe high-tech machine which prolly scan the card and the card will be dispense out again.

NO LOR!!! Bimbo Hair was waiting for the screen to flash "PLEASE ENTER YOUR PIN NUMBER". That screen didnt happened and that is the time i realised OMG!!! the machine is faulty!!! And you know what?n There are 2 guys (Singhs) who were behind me all the time and their card was also "eaten" by the machine!!! And wat the hell?! They juz stood there looking at me pushing my shittybank card into the shittybank atm machine. @%^%&^%&#&#$%. Warrau eh...they can at least tell me the machine is faulty right!!!

Well, going to be late for service. So i gave up trying to figure out wat the machine was up to. And worse...i couldnt find any contact numbers there so i called any number reflected on the promotional flyers and had my card cancelled, bitched about the stupid machine and request them to send me my shittybank card in 3 days. They heng hor. It's sunday, im going for service, its sabbath, dont wanna get too upset or bitchy with them.

So i rushed up to the platform and catch the train to braddel

So, bimbo hair reached braddel station and was walking to the busstop for feeder bus when she realised her shoe felt weird. I looked at it and realised the sole was coming OFFFF!!! Freak Fish. Why must it be NOW?!!!!

It wasnt like crocodile okie...it was like a CLAM!! It opened up sideways and when i lifted my foot it was like hanging on the brim

FINE. wat else can GO WRONG!!! FINE! So after a little struggle, i decided to take the cab to toa payoh central to save my poor foot. So Shitenrella yanked out the whole sole in the cab and then walked like Fu Hong Xue to the shops. No shops were open yet except those little carts. SPOTTED one that sell cheap shoes. S$8!!! Im so buying it. Thank God it wasnt too ugly. It was a bronze covered flats with a girly bow in front. Bought it, wore it, and threw the old pair straightaway. Caught a cab and went back to church. Cool. I did all these in 10 minutes, from braddel to toa payoh to buying that shoe to taking cab back to church.

Service & Sermon (The SALT & Light)

Finally, there is at least an "S" that made me happy. Service.

Naturally I missed out worship totally coz of all that frenzy that happened in the last hour.

Today's sermon was great. "I'm the Salt and light" Fantastic. Talking about us being the salt, giving flavour aka being the people who demonstrates God's glory to the people around us, etc. After Service, went to the market to have lunch with Sarah and some small chat before she has to attend the Chiangmai mission trip briefing. So i took the train again heading to Grumpy's. yippie!! At least something happy. It was going to rain, so Grumpy came to the train stn to pick me.

Stupidity

Just as I thought my sh!tty day was over................bimbo hair tripped in the bathroom and my big toe was smashed into divider for the shower room. Bimbo Hair ended up with bruised big toe and a crack in my nail.

Painful of coz. Grumpy laughed at me. Hmmp.

Okie...not ended yet okie...........then i tried to keep the laundry into Grumpy's wardrobe. As i opened the wardrobe door, COLLISION HAPPENED. the door had a big brush with my pinky toe. SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB

The best part was today's saga revolved around my RIGHT FOOOT!!! The shoe on the right foot retired...then i hit my right toe in the bathroom, then clipped my right pinky toe against the wardrobe.

I tell you. ENUFF is ENUFF. sobsobsobsobsobsosbsobsobsob.

OH...and in mandarin we call it: "S" is FOR "SUAY"

11 April 2009: The day between Good Friday & Easter Sunday. The day my saviour took my worry and have it crucified along with himself at calvary, 2000 yrs ago. Today, my old self followed Him to calvary. I shall be ressurected as a new creation tomorrow (Easter Sunday)

Kneeling in the pool, Pastor asked if I will follow Christ all my life from now on. Yes, I do.

How did I felt? GOOOOOOOD =D

I testified on how the Lord preserved my life...those of you who were at the baptism will know the full story. Was really happy coz my parents, grumpy zac, aunt, sister, childhood frens, my cousin and ah bil, and Kevin, Thomas, Maxime, Jo, Nana, Ah Di and the rest of the Petrans turned up to witness my big day........Merci bcp to all of you! hugz

A date with grumpy

Yes, im out on a date....with grumpy!

I am an advocate of dating, no matter how long your partner and you are together, always make an effort to date each other (*hint - boys, especially you people! haha. Did you guys forgotten how to invite your gf out on a date like when you guys first started out?)

More often than not, couples get too comfortable with each other's presence and meeting each other somehow accidentally ended up feeling habitual (not in a extreme way of coz). Though we meet up with each other almost everyday if not every other day - be it dropping each other place's for dinner, or juz chill during weekends, etc. I realised....HEY! You havent asked me out for a movie date for so long............

Well, sorry baby, you have a hopelessly romantic libran for a gf who like FIREWORKS in relationship. haha. Not that im being the insensitive, tantrum-throwing-princess-bo-liao gf, but it is really impt to have that "butterflies in your tummy" kinda feeling. Renew that fire, renew that sweet moments and look forward to each dates. It helps in strengthening the relationship and inject new fun too. My parents are still dating, they go out for shopping, dinners, strolls at botanical gardens and some other gardens/ parks/ reserves that I don even know existed in Singapore. See, thats fun! =)

So grumpy did date me out for a movie. hehe. nice grumpy isnt he? (I want to squuuueeezzze your face!) =)

I made dinner in return, hehe. oops, it ended up a lil heavier in taste coz it was SUCH a huge wok of vermicelli that i cooked so, i mis-cue on the flavouring. oops. but it was fun

I decided not to post the photo of the vermicelli, coz it doesnt look pretty at all. But when I was busy with the cooking, i spotted a HUGE LIZARD ON THE FLOOR!!!!

Grumpy and me watched "Confessions of a shopaholic". Chick Flick, thank God Grumpy is okie with chick flick. Was really a hilarious show, was sweet too. Grumpy said it was too fictional, well baby...it is chick flick! it has to be fictional =P

It was fun tonite, thank you grumpy. Definitely look forward to the next date. Wei...my water baptism and easter sunday dont count. haha. Maybe some nice under-the-stars picnic.

We did so that other night. It was fun. Grumpy had a full day course in school and then an evening course at esplanade so he didnt had time for dinner, so i brought him some dinner-bento home-cooked okie....and sat by the esplanade for some nice quiet meal.

Nice wasnt it? Backdrop of skyliners, breezy promenade with 爱心dinner =)

Yikes! I was so busy with the conference that was just over (pheww) and totally had no chance to lay hands on any post that I was supposed to be make. Going thru hundreds of photo taken at HCMC was like an organic sleeping pill....

Anyways.. ♥ V-dae was great and it wasnt the usual 'surprisy surprisy picnic or restaurant gettogether' but it was spend really casually but the joy of it surpassed my usual "fireworks" arrangement. After lazing around on bed, it was late morning and we decided finally....that we should peel ourselves off the bed. It was a lazy Saturday arvo, we sent Grumpy's parents and Shu to the Vet, and head toward IMM for a stroll and grocery shopping. Bought stuff to cook =) Bought a nice fruity wine too.

Nic and Alice will be over for a double date as well. haha. They brought champange over which was fantabulous!

This year…hmmm…headache…wat to do? haa. Grumpy and I are going to do some grocery shopping for our dinner tonite. Not too sure what to cook as yet, but pretty much Japanese coz Grumpy wants to go japanese tonite.

Discern time, unprepared trip

Yes, Chubsie will be going away again. Going to Vietnam to do some site recce as well as to spend some quiet time to be discern and fix my eyes only on the Lord.

The initial itineary involves HCMC and Hanoi, but due to the ridiculous cost I decided to forgo the 2D Hanoi trip and concentrate only on HCMC, may sneaked out some time for Nha Trang if it's possible. Michelle who lived in Vietnam for the last 2 yrs has given me an insight and some help on the places to go, so I m not too worried. She is almost local now.

Looking at my DK Eyewitness Travel book as well as the maps...im getting crossed eyed.

I am so offhand this time round. But i know i needed this trip. Will miss grumpy terribly when im there, but im glad it will only be 5 days. Wanna plan a holiday with grumpy but the ideal time will be 1st week of april. Thats the thing. When your half is an event planner, dinner or movie or drinking is an activity can only happened after 9pm (nocturnal, yawn). And when the other half is a lecturer, there is only a window (school holies) that we can fit in a getaway.

So...something exotic. Pearl of the Orient - Boracay or US military Base - Clark.

Another busy week has passed and I still havent figured out what i wanted. Tsumaranai. Lifeless at work is definitely the culprit to the entire emo state. Project wise was alright, but i began to wonder if this last yr is congruent to my career goals. I have deviate out a year, aspiring to assist a fren in expanding a portfolio of the company, guessed shant comment much, but juz say..it needs 2 hands to clap.

My heart still lies in the exhibition business and I juz have the urge to accept the offers by some companies. There are choices, but i donnoe if this is of the lord. Hmm.. i will explore. I guessed i will feel happy when im in track of my career goal. Maritime business...still the one i love. Clients has been asking when I am coming back to the business. Glad I am not forgotten as yet. haha.

2 am...i am still trying to finish up my emails and project schedule and sending them out. So while waiting for the files to be out, here's a post here at Chub's Sanctuary. Goodness. zac is still singing like a jukebox when I am blogging...its 2 am now baby!! haha. But I must admit. He makes me laugh. haha. okie...now the singing has been substitute by snorings...

Since Oct......happenings in 2008

My bad. It was a long hiatus since my last post in Oct. Here's whereever i was....

The year just ended with a fabulous note with Ken Yuen's wedding on 31st Dec, where all the RBBs are back from Sydney. Fabulous wedding - what a great way to cheer up and summarised my 2008 that juz whiff by.

My 2008:

2008 was the year of repositioning and changes. I cant decide if it was a good year or not, but if its from the Lord, it cant be bad. He doesnt promise bed of roses..but i believe every step He asked us to heed, be it a comfortable move or a challenging one, it was His intention to prune us. Amen. He did.

Changed my job, travelings reduced a little, fabulous new people I met at my new job. Just one concern..if I am heeding my initial career goal. Till now, I am still confused. My heart is still with the exhibitions & conference industry. I still have a back of bourke of journey in my career, and I dont wanna juz jump into lecturing coz then I will miss out my passion in the industry. awww...confused (".")

Oh well, then it comes to July where I had about 10 days off in Sydney for Hillsong Conference. Of coz, I crashed with V'jack my lovely brother. haa. cant believe i used the word "lovely" yeeeeks. Those were good times, tho we meet each other like once a year, the kindship is still ever that close. And that applies to the rest of the RBBs. I whipped up steamboat dinner with chicken stock and tom yum flavours and Eizac, Marcus, Rai came over to Jack's place to have dinner. Hmmm..so long since i cooked for them :) A sense of achievement. I never wanna leave Sydney bcoz of the lovely place, the lovely people, my alter ego family. Had long walks, shopping, roaming, drinking and had yum cha with Jack. Nice. Like old times, we were always chilling out spending time just chatting. of coz we have a lot to talk about, havent met him for a year! haha. oh anyways...even if i hadnt seen him for juz 3 hours, we will yak non stop. This is where Lio will be stoked and asked us to shuddup. bah! =D

The 10 days were spent...of coz at the conference and church, fab conferece it was. Enriching and the presence of Big Man was just overwhelming. I have already bought my conference pass for 2009 =D

It was amazing. With 24k people at Sydney Show Ground at any one time walking around from plenary service to break out session or the fringe activities, the crowd mangement was to be applauded. Everything was done in an orderly manner and not like how we cramped around the show ground during Easter Shows. Everything was amazing. We skipped lunch a couple days coz we attended the lunch session talks as well. The only day i had lunch was the last day where the session was filled up, and i just wanted to laze around under the winter sun and have my yummy thai chilli chicken wraps.

Other than spending most of my time at Hillsong, I had to make a trip back to UNSW for a meeting and just wanna roam around..spending some quiet and good old moments with my alma mata. Cant miss my fav caramel latte at the coffee carts. Law building has got its own building now. wow..so nice. I used to have classes in that dodgy smelling law rooms in library hehe. But..i love my library. So old school and the smell of old books reeks MOTIVATION haha. Ace! haha.

Met up with the girls, MJ and Flin on separate occassion. MJ's princess Eva is such a lovely girl. Chubby hehe. Feel like pinching her whenever i held her hehe. Lio and me had brekkie with MJ and hubby at Maroubra. Flin and Mr Tan arranged to have supper at Circular Quay with me after my conference and I shopped with Flin at Paddington's and followed by lunch at Lowenbrau where Mr Tan also joined us. They looked a fab couple together =D

Kev AD came to have dinner with me on my last night in Sydney where I checked into Marriott. Jack went to port Douglas for some incentive trip so Dad booked me into Marriott. Hmm...gorgeous. Dad was sweet..it was a business suite. Nice. Lying on my bed, i could see the gorgeous opera house out of the window, and it looks like a potrait framed up on the room wall. Kev brought me to this brussel mussels place..cant remember the name but it had a LONG list of reservation. But we got lucky, they called us up and said our table was ready after 20 minutes. =D Dinner was great. We took a walk around Opera House, it was a lovely night. Mmm...beautiful nite.

Left Sydney the next arvo, Kev AD came to pick me up and send me to the airport. Ciao for now Sydney. Will be back in 12 months =D

Aug ~ Nov @ All over

Bz Bz Bz...i didnt even know what i was doing. haha. Working of coz. Other than that..hmmm...let me thinkg *ponders 3 hours* yar..seriously cant think of anything quality except from burying myself in aimless work.

Made a couple of trips, Bangkok, Hua Hin, Bali. Barce was cancelled last minute so that I could be in Singapore for some meetings. A very short Hua Hin Getaway was indeed refreshing. I did no travelings except to juz laze around, chill at the pool, roam around the night market, stuffed my stomach with the local yummies, and intending to add a new ink haha. JB crashed on my business trip as well coz he wanted time out out his work. We made new frens there, some ang mos, some locals. There were a fun bunch. And i actually sat by the roadside with the tatt guys and had whiskey. haha. oh man..you wont find me doing this on a 2nd again!! Unglam. haha.

Holidays over and its back to working life. Bali was great. We were there for about 8 days to run an incentive program. Bali has its exquisite culture. It's almost like having their own culture and not much resembles Jakarta, Medan, etc. Of coz we were worried about the bomb scare coz the 2 jokers who were responsibled in the Bali bomb in 2002 were executed when were there. Judy and me didnt even dared to roam in the evening. We basically ran out had quick lunch where not many ang mo frequent, grab our shoppings...and dashed back with Cathy Freeman's speed back to Hard Rock Cafe Hotel before sun sets. Amazing.... haha. It was scorching hot there! And i turned darker. yeww.

It used to be a week of festive celebration. Guess….celebration gets shorter as one gets older and parties get lesser too.

Saturday had been a busy day. Met Joyce @ PS Cafe Dempsey for brunch - it was yummy! - which followed by a spa treat booked for me by Joyce. YIPPIE! I was sooo exhausted, I fell asleep. heee~~~

We went to chill at Holland V before going service with Cindy and Joel. Cindy’s my the other twin who shares the same birthday of me (and many others! Ramesh and twin sister, Tze Yun…all my 19 oct mates) After service, I went over to Trinity for my bible class, then proceeded on to the Barbe party @ Mich’s house - the band arranged it…how sweet is Rufee and Bern….!

It was actually a surprise bdae for me..heee..soooo sweeeeet. Rufee brought out a cake for me and it was such a nice surprise heee. THanks Peeps!

Today, my birthday was spent in the house of God - coz im serving in Toddlers Ministry. Saw my friend’s pressie when i reached home - it was a sweet arrangement in a tin with a plush holding it. hee

Arrived on time at Bangkok International Airport on time at about 4.40ish and the aerobridge was faulty, so we gotta do it the ancient way. just JUMP. kidding of coz. we took the metal stairs.

Customs were pretty fast coz we went through the officials line and board our shuttle in no time.

BUT! the journey from the airport to hyatt took 4 frigging hours?!!!! those of you who complained about sydney's peak hour - wait till you see this stationery line~! darn.

Johanna and me were chatting till we were soooo tired.......we have spoken 4 generations worth of topics and we were starving, finished our mentos, finished the magazine.... dad was starving while waiting for me to arrive as well. By the time i got to the hotel check in my wardrobe, it was 9.30pm....no time for street food, so dad appeased his angry princess with yummy hyatt buffet line which was indeed yummy. Super FRESH sashimi, WIDE range of desserts...yummm. Dad went back to his apartment coz he need to finish some work.

Woke up slightly later this morning coz wanna skip brekkie and went to the conference. Everything was good~! juz that the air con was freezing..so i ended up going to Zen to buy a scarf..really nice one...and it was on 50% ..heee. Then went to buy my chanel eyeliner and powder and i could claim VAT yay!

Dad has dinner plans tonight so I had to settle my dinner...so i ordered in Pad thai room service. hee. YUMM! Going for massage later with Dawn and Elaine when they finished work....so i got some time now to blog :)

Yes, almost 3 months has passed since I came back from Sydney. Work has been crazy and doesnt even allow the luxury of time to complete the looooong overdue blogs. The time to blog is really a luxury.

So here am I once again, blogging @ the airport waiting to board the plane. Told me boarding time was 30 minutes ago. And there are still loads of people here - gate's still closed. And tummy's getting a little upset coz i ate my curry pie too fast - and i didnt have it warm up coz I thought I was late

(GOOOOD!! now that Im writing halfway, they said I could board......=( duhz.)

Anyways, it's gonna be a short flight to Bangkok, my long awaited rest on the plane. haha. It's ironic how i have to sneak in resting time, blogging time and reading time in airports and on the plane. Used to be a little better when I was with Reed. Style all the way. Lil different now but I am still enjoying what I do.

Okie fine fine....they are nagging for us to board. Chey...! Made me wait for like SOOO long and expected us to all board the plane in like 10 minutes.....my legs are shorter, I walk slower.

Sorry peeps! Have been very sick since I arrived in Singapore and loads of work too. Havent had the time to arrange the pics and update on the Hillsong Conf as well as my homely trip down under.

Sydney. Hmm it has been some time since i’m back. It feels welcoming when the plane touched down, the smell of crisp, cold air, the aroma from the Java beans and not forgetting....the oh-so-familiar-accent.

10am, i touched down at 10am, getting ready to scoot by 1030. But hey!! Lio was fashionably late again. Am I not surprised? Haha. Argghh...painfully waited for...okie now officially 30 minutes. I am craving for onion, cheese, ham, bacon omelette @ Kimberly!!

So much to do, so little time to complete. Oh well, since this will be an annual pilgrimage, I shall take it easy.

Got a long program on for Sydney, Down Under, perhaps the fun-nest place on ..... the Southern Hemisphere. I wanna be at City today, maybe Glebe, Starbux @ George Street, Shopping at Pitts, Paddingtons for tomorrow, Rocks for Sunday, UNSW meeting with Stegs on Monday and then Hillsong Conference for the rest of the week. Nice. Amen.

C’s gonna be here too for the conference, her first time in Sydney so, gonna meet her at Central station to get to Olympic Village, Homebush. Good – I have company on the train so off goes the Nano & my books.

Next weekend will be something to look forward too. Gonna have dinner with the my girls – Flin & MJ - on Friday, then Fish market and more shopping at Paddington’s on Saturday morning, and Kev AD gonna be joining me and the ladies, then dinner with him. Sounds good. Very good J

Then dreadful Sunday will come coz...it’s reality time – back to work – arrgghhh.

Ah see...I knew something was missing. Gene! Oh man, that boy is enjoying in States, would have love to have him here in Sydney so parties wont be boring. Haha. Wasnt enough time spent in Singgas when he made a whirlwind stopover.

So. Day 01 is over. Lio and me went to East Ocean to meet Jack for lunch. Darn, Jack’s on leave today but Murphy’s theory hit on him, so he gotta be back in the office after lunch to solve the poo poo. So I decided to do a eastern suburb revisit. Went to the campus and walked from middle campus to upper campus, then to Randwick, then back to Med school, and all the way down to Law school and AGSM at the lower campus. So much memories. Randwick, where so much memories entailed. Warratah Ave, Coles, Randwick SC, Randwick vet....

The campus has also changed so much over the years and I took plenty photos to make up for the memory. Only one thing didn’t changed at all – the caramel coffee @ Coffee cart outside library J

It was horrible - a full month of working non-stop, thu-out the weekends left me absolutely no time for updating my blogs. Before i knew it, Osaka was gone, Gene came back, we partied, and gone, Ge Ge came over and gone, and.........Chubs will be gone Down Under Again.

Hmm....ah well. I donnoe when i will be updating my blogs - but hopefully i have some time in sydney to do it. AHH MAN! finally im back in sydney. But...this time, Gene's not there. That dude is prolly now driving heading to NYC from Conneticut - well, last i spoke to him was couple hours ago when he was craving for pizza for brekkie! *ohhhhh* hahaha.

Absolutely crazy over the last one month. I am so looking forward to some sanity in Sydney. Party Party Party, and then it will be full 5 days of Hillsong Conference, then nua si si for 2 days some more...then come back to dreadful singapore

Cindy and I made Brownies yesterday! There were yummy!

Woo~~ I didnt know it wasnt too difficult to make. I helped Cin out on the preparation and tadah! in 30 minutes we finished preparing the mixture and then another 30 minutes to bake it.

Serve it with ice-cream and the brownie looks almost as good as the ones from Zenellis! hehe! I am sure we will have another session to make something else.

Oohhhh~~~yummmmm~~~ So proud of myself. hehe ^^

Whisked away March & April

Whisk it away~

March & April has passed like a gust of wind. It was a month of roller-coaster emotions.

Stressed – relieved – confused – excited - panic – relieved again......

After the show was over, it was a total relief. Two whole years of preparation has finally paid off. Looking at 45% growth, it was really something to be proud of. And of coz looking back, there are so many other things that we could have done even better. I am sure.

Unfortunately, as much as i am unbearable to leave the place where i have always wanted to be since before uni. For the sake of relighting that fire, that positive outlook and the enthusiasm in me, I had to. An opportunist, i wouldn’t give up any good opportunities offered to me. Over the years, a couple of good prospects were laid out to me but I refused to leave RX. However, it is to the point where I knew it will benefit me more if I leave. I can’t guarantee that the next adventure will be a greener pasture but I guessed it is a sound decision to take a step out.

March had a whirlwind appearance as well, but there were loads of fun thing that took place besides preparing for the show.

Kevin AD stopover Singgas to start his Asia Tour so I took Mr AD to his debut Chilli Crab Dinner. Hee. We practically walked from the hotel to esplanade to Boat Quay and eventually landed at Clarke Quay – of coz....@ Indochine. Haha. There was a private bdae party going on but we went in nevertheless. YM was there as well coz it was his event, so it was cool, catching up with him as well. He was also nice to show KAD around.

We met the next morning again and I had brekkie with KAD at his hotel. He had a single room but double share of brekkie, so he invited me over. Yumm. Hee. Brought him to the Kuan Inn Temple then the Indian Temple at Temple Street then to the Buddha Relic Temple. Unfortunately the relic display is only open during Vesak Day. Not missing out Singgas’s national hobby (EATING!) we went to have chicken rice at Sang Zhong Leong Gin at the Airport before he fly off. And guessed what, he dropped his camy behind my car @ the carpark! Thank God it wasn’t taken by someone else coz it had been there like for about an hour or so! So yeah, chubs ran like the wind and called him out of the custom and had the customer officer passed it to him. Haa. So, he had to made a whirlwind trip to Singgas and a EVENTFUL departure.

After much indecisiveness and blog polls – i finally bought my lappy. Yep...despite poll results showed Mac:10 vs Vaio:2, i eventually bought a Vaio coz it will be more convenient for my work as i don’t have much time to get oriented with new software etc. Will leave the macbook till my next upgrade =)

Chubs was invited by the Cookie Museum for an afternoon rendezvous with the girls. Fantastic dessert, heavenly tea and interesting flavoured cookies were served up and we had a fantabulous time there. And of coz, you cant resist leaving empty handed from the Cookie Museum. Hee.

So yes. March & April flew pass, and I am so looking forward to A-no-ne Land. Pack pack pack. It’s the packing-of-luggage-routine again.

So the workaholic filled up the first day as an ex-RXian by packing 4 appointments on Thursday. hehe! Yep, i fixed all my appointments - friends, agents etc that i was supposed to meet since last year. So i parked myself in Bugis Junction since noon to meet:

Lunch with Jamie @ Bugis Junction, then Kofi @ TCC
Parked myself there....meeting JL @ TCC (yar....) to go through my debits-credits
Still there....i met Maxie at Intercontinental Hotel for coffee and some pastry
Finally moved away from BJ, i met Larry & Jas for dinner and drinks

Phew! See...i dont get depress from not working today...hehe!
Friday was more of a rushing schedule. Took Latioghini for the usual servicing and polishing then took a bus to King Albert to buy some groceries to Jan's house. She was on MC for 4 days and had to be bed-rested and so..im playing maria for these 2 days.

Lunch was hilarious. I made Tonjiru soup (yummm!) and Yaki Ramen (fried noodies). It was suppose to be juz soyu taste but it ended up like black pepper pork noodies coz.....i had some mishap with the black pepper shaker. hee! I forgotten that the bottle was a "flipped cover". Instead, i unscrew the cap and shook 2 BIG shakes of pepper into the pan - and yes - as much as 4 TABLESPOON of black pepper dunked into the pan like Ian Thorpe start his swimming comps. So you can imagine, the lunch menu changed instantaneously.

Dinner wasnt too bad either. hehe! I had to give Max's dinner @ Au Petit Salut a miss coz im staying @ Jan's.

Soon, it's Monday and i am already suffering from the absence of my colleagues around me, my daily work etc. So i decided to juz date mom for a beauty afternoon. She went for a spa session while i did my pedi. Gotta look good before i leave for Japan. hehe!

So, this is the day.

Tomorrow will be my last day at Reed, where i have spent my last 5 years at. The place where i had lots of laughters, tears, endless nights - the place where i have learnt so much, the industry which i truly love and a career path where i know i will definitely succeed.

Moving on is tough, i know it hasnt hit me yet, but i do feel a little sad leaving, for that's the place where i wanted to be ever since in school. I dont think i will ever leave this industry for long. Exhibition is my love, maritime too. Amina said it beautiful - to move on means a new progress. Thanks, beautiful.

Alrighty...apart from the sobby feelings, here comes the BIG headache! I realised over the 5 years, i have made my working cubicle MY HOME! I have loads of stuff there!! From my emergency Heneiken, soft toys, piccies to utensils and bedroom sleepers, i donoe how am i going to finish packing!

Well....finally,im down to juz one more box to packed. I have already packed 3 small DHL boxes.....darn. haha.I realised, no matter how BIG my workstation was, there is never enuff. What i have missed out in there, was a bed. I could LIVE in there!

I threw out majority of the stuff.....that i have been keeping since 2003. hehe.. shame on me for not doing housekeeping. Im like a Reed Archive ok....i have all the show info on my shelves. Ask me Ask me! I have alot of the info the next team will need.

oh well, so..its tomorrow 23 April 08. My last day in the place i love. I will miss all of you peeps - my fantabulous ladies, Xiao Zhang, Ches, the cute fellows from Lucas film (ohhh...i cant see you guys anymore...sob ), and yar..no more squeezing in the endless lift trips from basement to Level 7 coz the Ah Nehs hogged the lifts. I take 2000 years to get to my floor from the carpark. Haiyo. Then again...byebye Nehs.

I miss my clients too. I sent out my farewell emails out to them today and many of them replied me...starting with the words "NO!!!, Noooooooo, Why Why Why, OH NOOOooooo...."

Aiyo....all of you have extreme reaction to my leaving. haha. You guys sound really funny. haha. Yeah, i will miss you peeps - have been fabulous working with you guys and some clients and associates even became inseparable friends. You people will definitely miss my strings of "pls-do this-pls submit that" emails. haha.

Hmmmm....i think it is starting to hit me already......

Not an easy Friday for me as I was rushing all my contracts out before next Wednesday..even missed the UNSW meeting . Ah well, TGIF.

Finished whatever meetings and work i had, i met the gang for movie - The Forbidden Kingdom

The content wasnt like brain-wrecking, was rather.....B-grade content.

More of a 'Ang Mo-Fantasize-Chinese-Kung Fu' flick. You know the rest. Don't get me wrong, i like the movie. hahaha~~~ Bel and me were laughing throughout the show coz some content was quite spastic. hehe. But i must say, for all kung-fu movie lovers, this is spectacular - coz you get to see BOTH Jet Li and Jackie Chan in the duel!

Despite all these adrenalin scenes, my precious cousin fell asleep. haizzz. Ah well, you cant blame the pregger - guessed she gets tired REALLY easily. Snaps a finger, and she goes captured by zz-monster. Nowadays, with Jan being preggers, our gang's activity has turned to a really healthy one. We hit home before 1030. Good, you have higher tolerance than Summer. She hits the bed by 10pm. well done.

Talking about the fat princess, she's gotta be back at the vet tomorrow for her annual vaccination and the cartrophen injection for her bad legs. You know..like WD40 to grease rusty-icky wheels.

ZZ-monster is getting me soon....so i'll leave the writing to the trailer of The Forbidden Kingdom.

It was terrible...

Summer was limping for the past 2 days. She had always suffered from bad legs and her weight isn't helping. My princess is BIG for her breed. A Maltese x Shitzu (the shitese) is usually an average 5kg. My baby's almost an 8kg ....

Went to the vet yesterday morning, Dr Chionh has moved out of the vet clinic @ Holland V, but nevertheless had to just get Summer checked.

Summer's legs always gave her problems and her sexy weight wasn't helping much to the already-weak legs. This time round, she was limping really badly. She yelps if you raised her right hind leg. Vet deduced that her condition is getting really bad and perhaps a surgery will help.

I asked about the hip replacement - it's very common in Australia and States. But not many vets could do it here and it prolly cost btwn S$5k to S$8k. *ouch* There is a simpler surgery which is to cut a partial of the bone and then let the muscles do the job. This will lessen her pain as well. She couldn't walk fast nor run now. She walks like Tie Kuai Lee, or.....M.S.K. Only diff is...Summer didnt limp out of the toilet.

Anyways, the assistant told me where Dr Chionh has went to, and i will be contacting her soon for the x-ray to be done etc. She has full facilities at her clinic.

Sigh...why must this happen to Summer. Sian.~~

It has been a year

It has been a year since Andrew left. A day where the nation gained a hero and we lost our cousin (past blog: click here)

Tomorrow, grams and the family is doing a prayer session for him and grandpa, so i will be there as well. (oh yar...now andrew and grandpa are neighbors )

I wonder if anyone brought potato chips tml....drew liked them. hoho.

Grams still missed him lots, sometimes we caught her crying. haiz...what to do. they were so close to each other. And Andrew will nag us to visit grams more often, at least what he said to me sticks to my head like sticky pudding. So i did, over CNY, my parents & I took grams for a short retreat - KL, Malacca, Genting. She laughed alot during the trip, im glad. but...i have to play clown lor. hahaha. That made me realised, i still havent posted the trip's piccies in the blog. oh....soon ...soon.

So, yeah, 1 year had just passed.......

I still kept the newspaper clippings on drew's accident. To look at it just made me sad again.... Those were the times when we worked in Hoshigaoka when we were 15 years old. It was fun. We had fun working together, buying maccers for lunch and sneaking to the kitchen and fool around with the rest of our frens.

Drew, we definitely miss you.

It’s gonna be a busy day tomorrow. It’s Easter! And Marjan, Kathrin and Lorenz will arrive into Singgas in separate timings. Gonna meet Marjan and Henk for short meeting, then meet Kathrin for my girlie dinners and Lorenz will join us for drinks after he arrived. It’s gonna be exciting.

Build up for 3 days – and the show proper will start on Wed till Fri. I cant wait for tear down! Coz it is also the day I’ll be saying – yes, I have done that with my best ability and its time to begin a new chapter of my life.

Hmmm..but at the same time looking forward to my long awaited freedom. More travels from now on i forsee.
Think i did loads in Feb - there was work of coz, CNY, drove up north with parents and most importantly confirmed the decision made for realignment of career. And drinking with bud gene to chill away the ridiculous work schedule. Now that gene is back in sydney..i have one lesser bud to hear my rantings. hahaha.

Managed to catch a couple of movies: CJ7 was crap but that thing was cute, Jay Chou's Slam Dunk was funny but of coz C-grade intellect content. Went to watch 27 dresses and Juno with XiaoPang (XP). 27 dresses was a chick flix, but managed to convince (or coerce) XP in watching with me. He loved it too. haha. So you see, XP.....not all chick flix are duhz. =)

I loved it too! It's true, it will be so exciting and nervous to see your hubby at the end of the aisle receiving his bride (me la..) and most of all in the presence of the Man above. I think....i will have tummy ache. Hmm, i think my weddinn gown will be something that can be easily lift up or juz short gown....so if i kept getting tummy ache coz i was too nervous, it will be more convenient. hehe!

I'm so waiting to watch Sex and the City - cant wait to find out if Mr Big and Carrie does have a happy-ever-after future =) . Heh Heh...XP cant run...i made him promise to watch with me. hohoho.

wasnt able to meet xp today (leap year) coz he is off to Tioman for diving. Poor boy...must be duper tired. Flying sky high, then diving seabed low, then going to fly immediately when he comes back =( *massage* *massage*

CGM Day

So ...it is CGM today. Oh...CGM --> Chap Goh Meh (the last day of Lunar New Year)

CNY is now officially over. I cant help but wonder about the real meaning of CNY anymore. When we were young, it was horrible - travelling under the hot sweltering sun visiting endless homes we called relatives - whom....i don even find familiar. It was like all full 4 days were spent visiting. I wasnt too bored, i had Janice to fool around among ourselves.

Gradually, the number of families we visited gets lesser and lesser...so it became like juz 2 days of CNY spent on visiting. After almost 2.5 decades, it became just ONE day - the first Lunar day - YIPPIE! heeehee. Yes, CNY has lost its meaning. Its a day where we have steamboat and called it reunion dinner/ lunch. We gather around grams' house and made it an official Las Vegas den. And where we hang around saying we are unmarried and leeching on extra ang baos.

hahaha~~oh the fantastic part - you have to answer you are getting married soon *nose lengthens* or yes..giving birth soon *nose gets even longer* or yes yes IM GOING TO BE FREAKING ATTACHED~ *nose getting very very dumbo long now* See....we have to lie on the first lunar day. darn.

As my family's not very traditional to observe all the visiting rules - we shot up to KL the second lunar day morning. Dad, Mom, grams and me. We spent our luxurious time staying in the gorgeous suite at Marriott, had beautiful meals at Starhill Gallery and chill out at Pavilion. Mmmmm..nice. travel with dad, and you can expect style and luxury. oh boy..i love leeching. Will blog this with pictures when i have sorted out the piccies.

Anyways....so fast right? It's CGM today already. Had been working too much obscence hours so i decided to take a break today and have CGM dinner with mom coz she's alone in singgas.

It's a year of realignment and im now trying to weigh my priorities in life. Both offers are very enticing. Hmmm.....okie. You have crafted me in your plan, so guide me to the right decision =)

Wasabi - Rest in Peace Part II

So, it is finally known now. Wasabi had Stage 4 Liver Cancer when she passed on to doggie world. That's upsetting knowing she must had been feeling all unwell prior to the strings of vet visits.

Well...at least it is all over for her right now. No more pain, no more aches, no more horrible yucky medications and vet visits.

Rest in peace Wasabi. Just keep out of the ponds in heaven and stop gobbling God's goldfishes......yes...thats where you got your name wasabi - but you wouldnt want to be named shisamo right? =)

The lovely polka dot fren has just passed away 3 hours ago. Chiuso said the vet took a biopsy of the liver for lab test. Wasabi was throwing up couple days ago...and then went in for surgery. Guessed there were some complications after the surgery.

This fabulous paw was a gentle vegetarian soul would look at you with those CJ7 eyes, beside the dinner table waiting for you to soften down and give her something. hee. She would get her generous share of fruits after our meals and Uncle Paul will cut into small pieces for her. The dog who shows you her full set of gums and teeth when she is happy. weird..but thats wasabi for you. At times blur, most times happy, and definitely fight the snake anytime to keep you safe. A smallie for a dalmation, wasabi is the youngest of 11. She wasnt renamed wasabi until she ate a fish from the garden pond. hmmm. Still wasabi, we love you. I miss those set of teeth when she "smiles" when she is excited and happy. Miss the times where she will roll over, demanding for a tummy rub and at the right place, her hind leg will make a kicking motion. it was really funny =)

Yes! Chubs’ unwired! The wires are gone…chubs' ET no more!

Was at the hospital yesterday to fix on the holter device which monitors my 24-hour heart rate.

All the wires were so long that they need to coil it around and secure it with tapes on me. The holter device resembles a relatively smaller i-phone. Hmm..cool.

Not too cool after I saw I gotta wear a whatever looks like a luggage belt around my waist to secure the holter device.

Holy Moly Gedolly! I looked like ET and worse…………I looked like thou-shall-not-be-named. Well…just….a lil …..taliban-nesque. Had to wear my jumper over so I don look like an extremist.

Yeah peeps, for entertainment value, I am going to share these photos which I WOULDN’T even do so for the exchange of a wardrobe full of Malono Blahniks!! *bimbo* but seriously unsightly, un-glam and hmm…juz yeeeks.

yep...looks funny isnt it? and i wore my mr happy t-shirt there. hee. And yes......i toldcha it was ALL over me!

It was uncomfy with all the tapes around me – it was itchy, obstructive and unsightly.

Had to bear with it till this morning where I had to go back to the heart centre and had all these removed.

Yippies! No wires no more! =) But, Harlow rashes….

After the staff removed all the sticky beeky things off me, I was like….. “err….thanks, give me a moment……..” and I was scratching my chest with a BIG smile on my face. Hahahaha~~~ yeah sounds really gross…but the rashes were really itchy and now…I still have the bumpy little fellows on my chest and tummy. =(

After I left the hospital, I was a little hungry so I bought my fav parmesan-oregano baked chix breast sandwich from Subway. Yumm..i had never tried other combi from Subway before. Since day one, I stuck faithfully to juz parmesan-oregano chix breast hee. It’s difficult to kick this addiction since Sydney days. Hehe!

Oh oh oh….gotta figure out how to soother the rashes before I leave singgas! Hee!

Chubs over the hiatus

Indeed...it has been a enduring hiatus chubs has taken off from blogging.

Not good indeed.

It has been a torturous year at work - packed schedules, ridiculous length of working hours, travelings (okie..this im not really complaining)...hmm basically - just work.

Summarising what i have been doing for 07. Okie this is easy - work.

AGAIN?!

Yes, chubs' life for 07 was work work work work. Obscene.

The travelings were good i must say - for work as well as to breathe a lil. Get away from singgas for a while. There was KL for Inmex, Oslo for Norshipping, Pusan for Kormarine, Rotterdam for Europort, Shanghai for Marintec. All contributed to a successful sales figures. Met wonderful peeps during my trip and i was even able to sneak out some days out of my business trip and busy schedules for some breather.
London was fantastic - a place where i will relocate if opportunities arises. I felt at home there - just like it was in Sydney. My frens were there, so i felt extra-comfy in the busy city.

Amsterdam was fabulous even without mood-enhancing stuff. Jan managed to coincide her business trip to Rot-a-damn and Brussels so that was awesome. History came to life with the visits to the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank's House.

I realized if this was Chubs 1.5 years ago - i would have detailed every single moments of these trips - oh well, didnt have the luxury of time to even blog *shame on me*

When they say....."Europe is a place where you will always want to return to...." I raise my hands and agree without hesitation. Indeed, Europe is the place where you will always feel like returning - the air you breathe, the history, architecture, culture, the cuisine and the peeps.

Cant beat Mythical Greece though. Would wanna plan another visit back to Athens, Santorini and the rest of the islands. If plans sticks like sticky pudding, i will be back in Athens for sure, Summer of 2008 - Posidonia @ Athens. But if interesting plans are bestowed, I might take Posidonia out of business travel plans. Nevertheless, the promise i made to return still stays.

Breathe and close your eyes - the Acropolis stood proud under the full moonlight of Summer - makes you feel like you were transported back where Athena took her throne, fought and defend the city - where the Gods were busy at the Oracle.

I recently visited the Singgas Museum for the Greek Sculptures brought it from Louvre Museum. Not many pieces were flown in but some magnificent sculptures still captivated me. Of coz, this compares no closer than what i have seen up close and personal at Acropolis Museum, and of coz at the various sites at Crete, Mykonos etc. These are in fact the reasons that made you want to go back to Greece and soak in deeply with the Mythical Journeys that the Gods once traveled. British Museum also owned some of the artifacts - the missing pieces that i didnt see at the Acropolis Museum. I'd say, return them to Greece. I'll rally that.

The sculptures exhibited at the Singgas Museum does intrigued one's eagerness to return to Greece. Made you wonder, how did the sculptors craved out such expressive and emotional art pieces from raw Marble. The expression - they were so intriguing.

2008 started with a emotional ride - and i see that 2008 is a year of repositioning and realigning. I made a pact with the Man Above, lets see how i am going to pace in his way where i have been crafted in His plan...

schmucky went missing =(

I cant find schmucky today.... sobsob.

Schmucky is the black stray pariah dog (okie, i will be nice, he is a mongrel) that ended up near my house for the past week. Donnoe how he ended here but he has been so shy and timidly sat at a corner and just chill out.

I brought a big bowl of food and big bowl of water for him yesterday night. He was sitting at this corner not moving, while looking at me walking around looking for him. urghh...he must be thinking: fool...im here, didnt you see?

No wor...i didnt see him. haha. Only when i turned my back, i saw him staring at me (i thought i sense mockery from his speech bubble)...

Anyway, this morning i wanna see if he has ate his food, but the bowls went missing!! sobsob. Must be the Ah Ne that threw it away &#$&#@!

Hmm..so i went to buy some takeaways for dinner just now, and bought him a yummy canned food, but he was nowhere to be found!! sobsob. Return my schmucky to me!

Those yearning, pleading eyes, the cute little ears...i miss schmucky. He is simply adorable. RP doesnt really like me going near or touching the strays (which happened to be my fav past-time)..he goes..."Rabies!!"

Still, I love the strays...especially my schmucky.

sick, sick, sick

2 days of sleeping hoping I will feel better, but instead of feeling better, i felt even more tired.....

I guessed i just cant stay home despite being sick, the more i rest, the more bored i felt .hee.

Anyway, went to see the doctor again today as the doc i saw at the office building yesterday was quite useless, the doc at the office building was more eager to write me a medical leave cert rather than giving me the right medication. He only gave me anti-inflammatory pills...THAT WAS it!

So i had to see Dr Roy this morning to get medication for the phlegm, runny nose, sore throat, cough and all other flu symptoms to treat chubs who looks like Rudolf now.

Felt so hungry after my sleep in the afternoon, i ate what's left in the krispy kreme box. hee. Boy I missed it!! From States to Australia - my last kripsy kreme treat was 2 years plus ago

RP bought some from Melbourne, but i left it at Unc Angelo's place and forgotten to bring it back =( anyway, Reg juz came back from HK and bought us a couple..yay! Thumbs up, Reg! =)

So i heated it up, as advised by chef RP - and yeah, it tasted almost fresh from the krispy kreme oven. hehe. I had the plain honey glazed one on monday, couldnt wait. Had it for brekkie at work together with the coffee that RP bought me from Melbourne. Thanks Baby!

And yes, so i finally ate the strawberry one this afternoon. Wasnt a fan of strawberry stuff, unless it is the fruit itself. But this....this was divine...

Okie, the oven heat was a lil high, hehe, so i kinda charred the top. Oops! But i still love it

The sick cat is now returning to bed.....nite everyone, i cant wait to go back office. I cant stand it to be lying around at home...

The last backlog blog that i posted mentioned about RP's short whirlwind stopover in S'pore and then he flew to Tokyo for vacation.

After RP left singapore - i was about getting ready to depart for Malacca - YIPPIE! Coz i'll be meeting Jackjack there! My darling...how to do without him in my life. hahahaha.

It's been 7 months since i last met him at Louisa's wedding.

The bus ride up to Malacca was orite - didnt wanna drive coz i was freaked out by the horrible stories about getting fines, getting rob, or gasps kidnapped or sexually assault blah blah....im scarying myself again. Oh well..at least taking the bus, i can sleep ALL the way. It was a comfortable ride up but seems like taking too long for Malacca tho.

Finally reached Malacca Sentral Bus station where Jack picked me up from there.

The following few days were then spent going back to Jack's mom house, and also dad's house. Beautiful houses. Especially Jack's mom's house - its huge..its like a villa with a nice pool and a oriental rose wood porch which is like hanging off from the 3rd floor. Nice to juz chill out. Well of coz, we were busy helping Quek for his wedding as well.

Jack's childhood frens were cool to hang out as well - haha..brings back memories of RBB times in Sydney.

We crashed at Quek's gorgeous apartment for a couple of nights so that it is easier for us to run errands.

The wedding was great, we had losta fun and we stayed over the hotel for my last night in Malacca coz we were juz too zonked for anywhere else. And never in my life have I had so much Chivas and still stay 70% sober. haha. Put it simply, im never a chivas person..yux..

Awww..and you know what? I lost my favourite heels there!! My black leather heel with red roses embroidery....urggghh.....i donnoe where is it!!

Sobsob, anyway....it was time to go home after 4 days with Jack. Here's some fun pics we had - hmmm..okie, pics from the wedding, i don even remember taking some of them - especially the one with Yap...who took that?!

The Koala and the Little Lizard

I laughed till i had tears - coz somehow the last phrase reminded me of Jackjack and Ah Yao...that accent! haha~~~~

The Koala and the Little Lizard

A koala is sitting up a gum tree smoking a joint when a little lizard walks past ,

looks up and says "Hey Koala ! what are you doing?"

The koala says: "Smoking a joint, come up and have some."

So the little lizard climbs up and sits next to the koala and they have a few joints.

After a while the little lizard says his mouth is 'dry' and is going to get a drink from the river.

But the little lizard is so stoned that he leans too far over and falls into the river.

A crocodile sees this and swims over to the little lizard and helps him to the side, then asks

the little lizard: "What's the matter with you?"

The little lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting smoking a joint with the koala in the tree, got too stoned and then fell into the river while taking a drink.

The crocodile says he has to check this out and walks into the rain forest, finds the tree where the koala is sitting finishing a joint, and he looks up and says "Hey you!"

So the koala looks down at him and says:

"Faaaaaar - k dude.......how much water did you drink?!!"

H2Oplus:

As I have previously mentioned, certain products from H2Oplus suits the humid tropics. These are the few that I could continue using in Asia includes - The Marine Toner, Face Oasis, Aquafirm restructuring eye cream. They are not too rich - and you wont feel sticky. I must admit, this Aquafirm restructuring cream isnt as good as the previous one that i used The whitening mask, handcream, scrubs, body butter etc that i had covered in Part 1 of my review was definitely my favourites!

Generally, still on my constant-stock-up-list. However, these 2 products are good for tropical countries - it will not be moisturized enuff for European countries - for that, i will recommend Kiehls.

Ah yes....Kiehls - what would i be without Kiehls. It's gotta be my favourite and i cant live without it. Be it in Europe or Asia - it works well. Hmm..okie, the moisturizer is a lil richer, but still bearable for humid countries. If you are Down Under or in Europe - make sure you have these with you to prevent your skin from being dry.

Oh...girls you'll love this!! This scrub is gentle and works darn well! Peeps who have VERY senstive skin may wanna have patch test - you might get a little pinkish red after using - not that you are not suitable, juz that your skin reacts more sensitively then the usual peeps. And girls - you aint using Nappy San, pls DONT rub it so hard like you are getting rust outta a rod - it's skin we are talking about - Be gentle

Those of you using celnique - remember to exofliate your face about 3 times a week, so that celnique will work its best to DESTROY your black/white heads.

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

This handcream is supposed to be for very dry hands - good for office coz my working pad is simply insane - its obscenely cold!

However, this is one product from Kiehls that I don really swear by it. Well...i personally like handcream that smells nice (Peeps who know me knew that I am a handcream addict! They are always within reach - in the office, in the car, by my bedside, in my bag )

Well...i have thus left this handcream on my workstation in office and bought a St Michael's Lily hand lotion - the number of times i pump it in 30 minutes is juz amazing. haha! Perhaps twice in 30 minutes... The one in my bag is now Crabtree & Evelyn's Gardeners Hand Therapy - Smells GREAT and its so smooth! My new addiction.

My love for it:

Kiehl's Hand & Body Lotion - Grapefruit

Yes! It MUST be Grapefruit coz it smells wonderful and very moisturizing! Tho i must say the Crabtree one is a lil more moisturizing - but i still love the Kiehl's Hand lotion. It is non sticky and your hands stay soft and moisturized for a long time - maybe about 1.5 ~ 2 hours. But of coz...being addictive, i still pump it a couple of times in an hour. hee~

Ultra Facial Moisturizer

This moisturizer is for all skin types and it gets absorb in the skin really fast and your skin becomes smooth. If your skin is a oily and you stay in humid countries - do not put too much coz you might feel a lil "sticky". on the whole, it is still okie. It's always in my bag when I am in Europe coz it suits the dry climate PERFECTLY well. Your skin feels boing boing and silky soft. I only use this weekends when I am in singapore coz i don wan to feel sticky - coz i will be putting on sunscreen, make up base and liquid foundation with this - so, usually use this during weekends when i dont make up (when i stay home! hehe)

Brightening Botanical Essence

This is my latest addiction. Simply AWESOME! It gets absorbed very quickly leaving your skin silky smooth. You WONT feel sticky at all. The results are very obvious, especially when you use it at night, and the following morning, you are juz stunned on how your skin tone had improve by a lil. It's amazing, really.

This highly concentrated essense also contains Vit C and White Flower Extract, smells great and it helps to brighten our face too. It's a small bottle (pump), 50ml, cost S$85 - but it is worth it.

Kiehl's French Rosewater

This Rosewater soothes our skin - basically....juz that function. heee. Its great if you use it as a face and body freshner, it really frenshens up the skin.

I used this after i wash my face, settled in a lil before i used the botanical essense. It even have rose petals in it! hee...sounds like a good concoction, isnt it?

I used this on Summer too. She has sensitive skin and i applied this on her to calm her skin down. Its rose anyway...Kiehl's has products for pets too, juz that i don see them in the shops here. But Kiehl's website do feature the products for pets. Anyway...Summer dont consider herself as "a pet" - she is a family (human) member. duh.

Finally, its TGIF again. It has been a terribly busy and stressful month, and it was time to take break from work before the extra workload from UNSW starts.

Was a hectic day and i only managed to send out my appointments for 2 country pavilions for Noshipping, which i will be attending in Oslo in a couple weeks' time. Haiz....

Anyway...almost forgotten the time coz i was too immensed in my work and realised im going to be late for Spidey.

Met KH at the theater. He was earlier than our meeting time coz his program finished earlier.

Hmmm..Spidey 3 was more of love story then action and i thought it was kinda long. We went in at 940, and it didnt end till 1210. My back was aching, and my butt hurts. haha.

On the whole, i wouldnt say it was a terrible show, but i must say it was draggier than the first 2.

Spawn was cool, i must say, hee. And it was the first time i saw the cheeky side of Peter Parker.

Love, friendship - that was the theme of this sequel, in my opinion.

Right. So, after the movie, KH took a cab home and i went to get my car. I parked my car head to curb coz it was the first lot when i entered the gantry, so head to curb was the easiest. I sat in the car, and this is 1220midnite k, and flipping thru my CD case to get my Metallica & Symphony CD.

Got it.

I lifted my head, on my headlight...................and i saw something at the corner of my eye!! There was a little girl about 7 years old, standing at the corner of my car staring at me! She was moti0nless...and juz stare straight into my eye. I WAS FREAKED OUT!

After what i thought was eternal.....i heard a mom calling out and checked my rear mirror. There is a small family that walked pass my car. The lil girl then hopped away.

PHEW!! I thought she wasnt human!! And....what onm earth was she doing??? How come she was standing near my bonnet??? urgghhh.......

Told Jan about this....and she said...hmm..maybe the the WHOLE family was supernatural

The Day Singapore gained a hero, we lost our beloved cousin.....

14th April was just any other lazy saturday morning. The phone rang and mom said the found han han. I thought she meant "found him...and in hospital now"

No. Found him. His body.

It was hard to believe this. I juz saw him couple weeks ago at Ron's ROM ceremony.

Han was from the elite squadron of the Singapore Police Coast Guards. While on the operation to arrest illegal immigrants, his patrol vessel capsize after a high-speed collision with the illegal immigrants' boat.

If i were to write this blog on that eventful day, it would have sounded angry topped with loads of "whys". But few days passed with the funeral cortege and ceremony yesterday (17 Apr), I have thus stop asking why. All we know.... is the result. In Buddhist doctrine, it is perhaps just fate.

The day Singapore hailed its hero, we lost our beloved cousin.

Indeed we missed him. I am proud of you, not just because you are hailed as a hero, but you were that perfect guy with smiles, the great husband, the great daddy, our great cousin, and to sum it all, a Great Person.

Han, I will always remember your smiles, your laughters, your words and the days we we had in our vacation working stint at Hoshigaoka when we were young. Those were really fun days. As Rick (our friend from Hoshigaoka) mentioned, we will always remember the "plane (plain) rice" joke. You brought us laughters, Han. We will miss you. This, i wrote and dedicated for you.

Angry words unspoken, i can only sigh,

Only to wish you well from this other side"

The funeral cortege was grand. He was given a full honour procession. There were more than 500 police officers attended, and a eurology delivered at the crematorium. The flag and beret was presented to my cousin in law. On the way from the house to the crematorium, we were escorted by nearly 10 traffic police that ensures we had a smooth journey there without any delays. The police band played a solemn repertoir, while we walked the hearse to the front of the crematorium hall.

Looking at the casket being pushed into the crematorium, just made me unable to control my tears.

Rest well, Han. I will remember the words you said. The only-cousins-vacation that we always talked about was not realised when you were around. We will try to make it happened, and stay even closer as cousins. The last all-cousins-fun-day that we had was a chinese new year night couple years ago, where we went to the billard parlous at Bukit Timah, and then a hearty supper of roti prata a stone's throw away. Those were great memories....

Perhaps we should endeavour to do the same with what we have now, and to be a better person to those who are amongst us.

I share your loss, and I am sure that your cousin's demise will provide lessons to those he has touched in the things he had done and words he had spoken. Let his memory be a motivation to do better for the living, and not a perpetual reason for prolonged mourning."

Now now...chubs has finally stop procrastinating and starting to complete the blog which i have missed out for a month. Had such a busy month, i was too exhausted to organise the blog in proper posting.... so here goes....!

RP was in Singapore for a stopover visit before his chillaxing (RP's vocab) Tokyo vacation commence...

Couldnt meet up on Friday when he arrived as the Funtastic-5 (now 6) was having our periodic dinner

On the menu:

Honey Soy Red Wine Grilled Chicken Drumstick with herbs
Cous Cous
Bed of Greens
Fried Japanese Udon
Pork Stew

(okie..supposed to be Beef Goulash, but i couldnt' get Beef)

Nice. haha. Everyone had a hearty dinner and i think i did pretty well on the herbal chicken haha.

Finally met up with RP for dinner on Saturday. Where else buy my favourite restuarant - My Secret Garden

Pick RP up at Holland V and we headed to MYSG as i had reserved the place for 7.30pm's dinner. Ronnie was there and of coz i will be sure that he will have my dinner arranged the way i liked it to be. hehehe. Great.

And of coz without second opinion, i had my Mushroom Soup, Cod Fish (guys you have to try it!!), Rose Wine - my usual dinner line up at MYSG. RP had mushroom soup, salmon steak and the faithful Corona.

It was surprisingly a great night of catching up. We had endless conversations and we just had so much to share. Initially, i was juz a lil worried about how dinner will be as i havent seen RP since last Oct when he went back to Melbourne. But everything was great, the food, the ambience (of coz...no doubt! ) and the company. Maybe we are kinda alike in someways coz we share the same birthday!! haa! Yeah....you heard right...we are both born on the same day, same month. Cool isnt it?

After dinner, we went to Carlton's Lounge for a drink. Carlton didnt change much. Hmm...it was like 8 years since i worked there for a short stint before uni.

As I insisted on taking the tab for the dinner @ MYSG for my guest from down under, RP said he would like to take me out for dinner....Sounds good to me. So we met up at Michaeangelo for dinner on Monday.

Ahh...i see. I realised RP's unc, Angelo owns the place, along with the cooking school Ariston, Original Sin and Sistina.

Serving Italian food (of coz...Angelo's an Italian born in Australia), Michaelangelo's ambience is wonderful. We sat outside, under the clear sky enjoying our wine, bruchettas (my fav!!) and then pasta.

Risking a few mossie bites, i had an enjoyable dinner. Couldnt finish the food tho, coz my tummy isnt feeling at its best. THe wait staff at Michaelangelo were great too, looking after us in detail. haha.

In the middle of the conversation, a thought...or rather, a question came to my mind.

Coz it seems, ESP happens ... haha. RP asked what kinda jam i am...if i were to describe myself. He was guessing too. In my head i was thinking..hmmm..maybe im a cranberry. Okie, we know that we have diff kinda jams, marmalades etc...sooo many to choose from.

RP answered "I think you are a cranberry"

Wow.........amazing, how could this answer be alike since i only made a decision moments ago.

That's not the only instance that happened.

We were ordering desserts and the wait staff suggested we have Tiramisu as they are freshly made every day. RP was deciding to get that......but in my heart i was like..hmm....i would love to have Creme Brulee tho...

And split second after i had this thought, RP told the wait staff that we could perhaps change the Tiramisu to Creme Brulee. He asked me if its okie. I was a lil slow on response coz i was juz thinking about CREME BRULEE...............

ESP.

We took a stroll after dinner coz we were so stuffed up even though we didnt finish our pasta.... The portion was juz too much.

We then stop at Unc Angelo's house ..juz steps away from the restuarant in fact, where RP is putting up in Singapore. He said he had something for me.... I waited and.....it was a stalk of rose. wow...it has been some time since i received a rose...

He said it was a gesture of thanks....for having dinner with him. That's sweet. hee.

Ohh...i must not forget..yeah..since i am a dog lover. haaa. Unc Angelo has this dog..not too sure what breed. But could be a mongrel. Hooch is such a sweet dude! haaa Friendly, handsome and charming, i think he'll make a perfect dating partner for Princess Summer P. hahaha......

Tuesday: RP's off to Tokyo for a 2 week vacation.....awww......im jeolous!! hahaha.

Went to the airport to send him off. It was a surprise visit tho. haha.

Animals dumped...

All in a few hours at the SPCA!

Of the thousands of animals taken in by the SPCA each year, many are surrendered by pet owners. The following cases occurred on an unusually busy day in October 2005.

A nine-year-old beagle was surrendered as it was ill and had not been taken to the vet because the owner did not want to spend the money.

Chubs: Utterly despicable!! You wan a dog bcoz it is cute. now that he is sick, you forsake him. SHAME ON YOU!!

A cat owner with eight felines surrendered one because it was not "toilet-trained".

Chubs: Eh! why do you think babies wear nappies?? they even wear watever "Huggies Pull Ups!" till they reach age 4!! And Pets? they usually learn it in 1 to 2 months with good, proper, patient training. SHAME ON YOU!!

A Jack Russell was deemed to be endangering the lives of neighbors as the dog had a tendency to run out of the owner's premises and sit in the middle of the road.

Chubs: .........have $$ to buy house, no $$ to secure gate? Teach you one method. If the dog does it again, roll up a newspaper........AND HIT VIGOROUSLY ON YOUR OWN HEAD!!! SHAME on YOu!

A dog was surrendered as it had bitten people.

Chubs: ................................train train train when they are young!!!

Two rabbits were brought in by a family who asked the SPCA to take care of them until they returned from China.

Chubs: EH! you think hotel ah?!! There are Pets Hotel available morons. SPCA are busy enuff to handle other pet problems by other moronic humans..

A four-month-old stray kitten found in Hougang Avenue 10 was brought in by a member of the public.

Chubs: Okie...no choice, coz its a stray. So.....we just have to sterilised the strays. I used to feed the stray cats, but have since painfully learn to stop it. Now, i juz stopped over to cuddle it a while...

Five hamsters were brought in as the owner's husband was allergic to them.

Chubs: You know what lady...? You are a BAD OWNER....and a BAD WIFE!!! Eh!!! Your hubby is allergic to animals, how could you not know?? First, you are endangering his life (asthma, skin allergies can be fatal too!). Second, wat do you think those 4-leggeds are? Toys??

Three newborn kittens were found in Lorong Marican and handed over to the SPCA.

Pauline Hanson is in love.

The 52-year-old former One Nation Leader, famous for her outspoken views on race and immigration, says she has fallen for country music singer and songwriter Chris Callaghan.

"We have both been pretty much looking for that perfect partner for the past 10 years and we've found it in each other and I think it's absolutely fantastic (chubs: oh gosh...confirm unsound)," Mr Callaghan told the Nine Network as he held hands with Ms Hanson.

He is seven years her junior and like Ms Hanson, has also been married before.

Ms Hanson met Mr Callaghan nine years ago at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in northern NSW.

How'dy! Its 4.24 am now and chubs is still wide awake!

A day in the office indeed passed like a burb (okie..i don wanna be gross and use the word 'fart') Managed to finish what i had to do today and sent the documents to Kathrin in Dusseldorf.

Since recovering from the strings of virus attacks, i am always feeling cold in the office...yar..and thus this pic. haha

YIPPIE! JY is back from Cambodia for holidays so we are met up for shopping, dinner and eventually booze finale

I was caught in the jam...bad jam coz there was apparently a 6-cars chain accident at PIE so i managed to reach Cairnhill at about 6ish. Shop around Heeren...can you believe it? Chubs havent been to Heeren for the last 8 months. Yes..those close to me know why...but i went todae =) Loved the Puma shop that featured losta great shoes!! The concept is like Hype in Sydney. hehe. Gorgeous shoes!! Cost about S$400 on the average...but i tell you...no regrets as they are REALLY gorgeous.

No la....chubs didnt buy any..........

Went to Mooks of coz....chub's favourite nua-ing clothes. they have absolutely gorgeous jumpers. I got 2 there last July with Jack - simply loved them

The evening adjourned to VivoCity (yes..for the same reasons....i have never been there. So its my virgin trip there) Phwoarrrr.....! I thought i am expecting something nice..........but actually i am dissapointed. The design was by the renowned architect Toyo Ito (very nice man...spoke to him personally, and he is totally amiable). But alas...what happened to the internal design of the mall????? Simply dissapointed. A far cry from the not-too-bad facade!

Dinner was settled at this Japanese くし屋　- basically BBQ meat/ vege on skewers. Not bad an ambience but food is so-so. I think the curry is not well done....JY didnt finish it at all. I am sure i make better japanese curry ....for sure.

Aaren had to oversee the event set up outside Harbourfront so JY and me started our pre-func at Harry's. Ohhh..i feel so young in there..............(so many uncles there) Ordered my VB ..yuumm..

And of coz....we wanna go over to The Cannery so we gotta con Aaren into going. haha. I just recovered...and not supposed to club but WHO CARES! its TGIF haha. Aaren is down with flu...but...we con him to go with us. haha

Almost entered MOS.....but last minute decided to go back to the turf. haha.. Where else but Velvet/ Zouk haha. So we drove off again.

Holly Cows...i just parked at MOS carpark for like 10 minutes lor...swear to god..it was just like a grace period but i was charged S$2.80!!! ^*#%^%#$

Park at Zouk whole darn night also no need so much!!!

Anyway...why bother with small stuff..haha......go in first! Fun is COMING!

Holly molly! I have finally collected my 2 pairs of precious heelies!

Finished my meetings today and drove to Ninewest happily in the Arvo. hehe. Totally Exhilerated! Hopping into the shop happily like a ankle biter, i suddenly felt that my fever, cough, sore throat and flu are ALL GONE! hehe.

Wooohooo! out come the shoes *careful* *careful* and heedfully bring them to the car and have them seated nicely on the front seat. Yar...go ahead and laugh about this stupidity. But these are how chubbi's shoes should be treated - with dignity. haha.

Miss reading Neil's column... So i am reposting this funny edition i read off somewhere =)

His last book - Final Notes from a Great Island - was an informative summary of our small island - many of which that i 've learnt to know from the book. ahaha. SHAMEFUL SINGGY!

Haha...Neil Humphreys is so funny. Having read 2 of his books - 'Scribbles from the same island" & "Notes from an even smaller island", I came across this column he wrote about - 10 reasons why Singapore men are doing their national service..hehe. Read on...

(1) They get to go to clubs like SAFRA. Ang Mos have to pay to use such facilities at clubs and its bloody expensive.

(2) They get a break from their parents. I (Neil) travelled 10,000 km when I was 21 to get away from my parents and, to be honest, it's still not far enough.

(3) If they go to overseas universities, they can impress the western women. My old Singaporean mate Dave used to delight the young girls of Manchester University with his heroic tales of NS. You'd think he was George of the Jungle. The predator of Pulau Tekong. But I know an injury meant he spent most of this time being Dave of the Office. But the girls still loved him. They saw an officer and a gentleman from Asia. I saw a sotong from Singapore..

(4) NSmen are slightly more mature when they go to university. When they westerners go to university at 18, they get drunk and fall over. When Singaporeans go to university in their 20s, they get drunk and fall over. But they don't vomit so much.

(5) They can appreciate the lame jokes in the Singaporean NS movie "Army Daze"

(6) They have foolproof diet plan. Sweaty clothes, boots, helmet, humid, hot jungle, regular meals and plenty of exercise - the perfect weight-loss diet. All those draft ads in the newspapers about losing weight in 30 days and taking magic pills that lose weight but damage your liver are a waste of time. The military should see NS to men and women. Take out full page ads that say: "Lose weight in three months with the perfect diet - it's called basic military training.

(7) Whenever they watch a Hollywood blockbuster that has anything remotely connected to the military (Pearl Harbour, Black Hawk Down etc) they can bore the person next to them (usually me) about all the gun specifications and military drills involved in the movie.

(8) They can humble non-NSmen and impress women with all their "crocodile hunter" talk. mention any wild animal to an NSman and he has invariably seen one, caught one, wrestled one and ate one during his night watch in the jungle. Just say the word snake and they'll cry: "Aiyoh, in NS got a black-spitting cobra in the camp one time. Damn fierce one. i only had a stick (don't they have real weapons in NS?) and had to poke it and push it into drain. Had to fight with my bare hands. But was damn shiok. Because after we had snake soup, which is good for erectile dysfunction."

(9) They get free suntan and free haircuts. In Toa Payoh, it is a 10-minute haircut, S$10. In NS, it is 10-minute haircut, botak, free.

(10) Like in the movie An Officer and A Gentlemen, the get to huny for women at the weekends, which is a whole different ball game when you havent seen any women for a week and you've only monitor lizards for company. The NS boys know what I'm talking about. They are like wild animals during the mating season at Zouk on Saturday night. They need more than a cold shower when they go back on Sunday night. They need an ice box and a welding kit.

The past week passed really quickly with majority of my time spent in bed.

As usual, chubs being unable to stay still, still went outdoors despite being sick....which of coz worsened my condition. (Ojiichan oredi chided me say im "huo gai "for going to play golf still)

I am feeling marginally better now, but still feeling shakey...here's my eventful week.

Hmm.realised i bought losta things this week...here's the list:

New Golf Shoes to replace the retired pair
Replenish my H2O plus, Ettusiais & Laneige stuff
Mac Private Sale (okie.....i don need them, but irresistable, so cheap!)
Ordered 2 pairs for Nine West Heels - Sexy!!
Summer's medication

Yeeee?! Medication counted?

Anyway, yeah, the first 2 items were bought before i fell really ill. I am very proud of my buy! haha. My new Nike Golf shoes looks nice - coz it doesnt look like the usual golf shoes. I like them as they look really streetwear.

Actually, i wanted to get a pair of adidas, but didnt see any nice ladies ones, so i settled for this Nike which was love at first sight =) Not too pricey as compared to the rest - about S$204+ (oops..realised i pulled the image too much, now it looked imbalance. haha)

Spent a total of S$300+ on H20plus, Ettusiais and Laneige - urghh...everything finish at one go. The sum looks scary when you buy everything at once

Thursday morning: sent Summer to the vet urgently coz of her sensitive skin (urgghh..this is one part i don like about bringing Mer back to Singapore, the weather is so humid!) Doc gave her some oral and applied medication...and put a collar around her (looks like a lamp) to prevent her from licking the cream. hehe...she looks like Apollo 15! haha. These pics were taken at the vet

The bugs and virus hit me on Thursday and i was really down....but still insisted on finishing the meeting and then woke up 6am on Friday to play golf. Had a good game though i was sick. Proud of myself. haha.

Okie..not so proud after the game, coz i was already running a temperature and shaking away with embarrasing trails of mucus seeping down my nose..haa..GROSS! I have very bad runny nose. Chubs hate to see the doctor - but no choice, it was so bad...and the fever leads to me not hearing properly and i couldnt speak much or breathe properly coz my throat was infected badly. Doc gave me so much medication - i feel like a mixer in Pfizer plant. Anyways, I am glad the pills made me very very drowsy and i was able to sleep for the rest of the day for almost a good 7 hours. Woke up to have congee and medication and back to sleep.

Comes Saturday - heee, chubs despite not improving still went ahead with the MAC private sale with Jan. Well..dont wanna miss out you see. Though i dont really use MAC stuff, but they were too cheap to resist. I bought a face scrub since my Kiehls is finishing soon. Bought also a lip conditioner, 3 lip gloss (one for my sister, one of jess and one for myself) Isnt the color lovely?! hehe. Bought also a shimmering finished powder where you can apply after your make up to have those glitter stuff sparkling up your face Needless to say, the make up pouch is going at S$15 only! And its my fav color, so i bought it. I will think of what to put in them. heee. Oh yeah! I also bought a blusher. hee.

After the sale, we went to Nine West to buy my shoes...but ALAS! the only pair they have is not perfect!! hMmpp! Dont want. So i ordered it, they will somehow find another pair and bring it to the shops. Yippie! =) DONOT fool around with chubs shoes. hehhee

Saw another pair of blur strappy heels - sooo lady like!! So...i ordered that too. Jan bought a pair of pumps for work - so good...it was on 50% discount.

Holy Baboon!! the nice oldies brown heels that i bought last year is on sale!! 50%!! TMD....everytime i buy already ..then they go on sale.

Anyway, the shoes do cost a bit, coz the 2 pairs im buying are new and thus not on any sale. Oh well..i do have the Ninewest VIP card, so 10% is better than nothing right? I am so excited to pick up the shoes on MOnday =)

Couple hours later, my fever really kicked my butt, was feeling totally awful - but still made my way to Mark's farewell party at his apartment at Great World City. He will be going to Cambodia for the next 2 years. awww....

I was early coz i wanna leave early - no one was there yet, so i helped mark with the laying out of the finger foods, load the ice box with beers and juices, lined the wine up the counter. He bought all the munchies from Old ChangKee..yuumm! But...i can only eat the fishballs....

Met some of his high school frens, and they are really chatty and fun. I guess the fun had taken over the time, and by then, i already had 3 bottles of beers and 3 fishballs. haha. Hey! the beer works! My fever was driven down. Left about 8ish and took a cab home coz didnt wanna drive after my medication which made me drowsy. And of coz ..needless to say..chubs was CONFIRM KO after running around.....slept in for wat was left of my saturday and also sunday.....

Im still drowsy now..but i guess its time to go bed. Bad throat ....but at least the fever subsided and the cough are getting less intense....
